Here’s a bit about me and my background:
Since the tender age of nine, I’ve been passionate about psychology, particularly in children’s development and behaviour. I grew up in a very large family as one of the oldest to many many children, and loved every second of it ! My fondest memories are from my time taking care of the younger ones and organizing activities for all of the little cousins, often looking after a good dozen children aged from 1 to 10.

I have not yet had the opportunity to work as a live-in Nanny or an Au-pair but i would love to have that experience ! I am a very family oriented person and I take my job as a child caretaker to heart. I want to be able to have a closeness with the family I work for and I look forward to working on a regular basis to create a deep bond with the children and parents. I am very enthousiastic about being able to help people in need and i hope i can find a place where that help is benificial.

I studied specialized education in college, I completed more than half of the program, including an internship in a primary school as a specialized educator. I ended up finishing my diploma with a general formation to accelerate the process to pursue higher education in neuropsychology.
I also have three certificates from Coursera – an online school program. One is in human development, another is in early intervention and the last one is in the neurology of autism.

Aside from my absolute passion for human studies – sociology, psychology, neurology, human biology, antropology, etc. – I am also deeply passionate about music and arts in general. I taught myself how to play the guitar, the ukulele and the piano at about seven years old, and joined a band in high school as an oboeist. I particularily love signing, especially traditionnal songs from my french canadian culture. I also draw, paint and participate in theater projects with my friends in cinema. On a completely opposite note, I enjoy learning about quantum physics, astronomy and chemistry as well. I am a person who can never seem to learn enough, i will always have a deep need to stimulate my mind. I decided to take a little break after being in school for such a long time and learn on the job about different people and cultures as an Au-pair. After that adventure, I want to go back to my studies to get a neuropsychology doctorate and practice/teach while hopefully making a big family, just like mine !

I have worked with about six families as a baby-sitter, I have worked in a day care, in a specialized summer camp, as a tutor and at a regular summer camp. I have over 400 hours of experience with children and people with disabilities. I started to assist in daycares at a very young age and I have approximately 4 years of professional experience with children, not counting my babysitting days.
