Dear Host Family,
My name is Tinah Wamaitha, and I am 22 years old. I am very excited about the opportunity to introduce myself to you and hopefully become part of your family as an au pair.
I would describe myself as a cheerful, caring, and responsible young woman. I enjoy learning new things, meeting people from different cultures, and making meaningful connections. I am someone who takes responsibility seriously but also knows how to bring fun, warmth, and creativity into everyday life.
I live with my family, who are very supportive and loving. Growing up in a close family environment has taught me values such as respect, patience, and teamwork. I have learned how important it is to take care of each other, and that is something I would also love to bring into your family.
My hobbies and interests include reading, cooking, traveling, and listening to music. I also enjoy outdoor activities, such as nature walks and sports, which I believe are a great way for children to stay active and happy. I like being creative, whether it is through storytelling, drawing, or making small crafts, and I enjoy sharing these activities with children.
In the future, I plan to further my education and build a career where I can combine my love for children and my interest in cultural exchange. I hope to use the experiences I gain abroad to grow personally and professionally.
I have a lot of childcare experience that has shaped me into a confident and responsible caregiver. I have taken care of children of different ages, from toddlers to school-age children. My responsibilities included feeding them, helping with homework, bathing, playing, storytelling, and sometimes putting them to bed. I also supported parents with light household tasks. I truly enjoy spending time with children, because they are curious, honest, and full of energy. Every child is unique, and I always try to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for them to grow. Seeing children smile and knowing I am helping them feel cared for gives me a lot of joy and purpose.
The reason I want to become an au pair is that I love working with children and I also want to experience life in a new culture. For me, being an au pair is not just about childcare, but also about becoming part of your family, sharing daily life, and learning from each other.
My expectations of my time abroad are to improve my language skills, learn about your traditions, and gain valuable life experience. At the same time, I hope to give you peace of mind by caring for your children with love, patience, and responsibility. I want this to be an exchange where we both benefit and create lasting memories.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I am really looking forward to meeting you and your children and becoming part of your family.
With warm regards,
Tinah Wamaitha
