Letter to the family
My name is Ntlamba. A social work honours graduate from the University of Pretoria currently working at a health implementation partner organisation as a social work intern. I am registered with the South African Council for Social Services Profession. I am driven by the passion and love of child protection in the field as a result of my personal experience with working with children outside and within the profession of social work.
Outside the field, my love for children stems from my hands on experience with children such as spending time with children in the childrens church at my former church (I relocated). This included preparing food for the children from the ages of 2-5 years, changing diapers when needed, reading Bible stories and sometimes playing videos of these stories, colouring activities related to the stories eg visual images of David and Goliath and colour those images, playing music and dancing. Babysitting for my family and relatives and family friends for many years, preparing them for school and playtime and also changing diapers and feeding. The ages range between 3-7 years including my brothers child with special needs for the whole year when I took a gap year in 2020, the best experience for sure.
I want to be an Au pair because I love being a part of a child’s growth and journey and contribute to their wellbeing. I am also willing to learn about the culture and also share my South African culture with you. But most importantly i want to use the experience i learn and apply it in the future in dealing with children in the social work field as i am more focused on child protection and welfare in the field. This experience will help apply my skills not only to the local context but also internationally, and also learn how to take of my own kids one day.
I am patient person, kind, open to learn and adapt to a new routine and contribute a positive attitude to your family and to your children.
