Dear Host Family,

I would love to share something personal about myself that has shaped who I am today. I was raised in a children’s home, and growing up in that environment taught me responsibility, empathy, and the importance of care from a very young age.
Because of this, being around children is not something new or unfamiliar to me. It has always been part of my daily life. I grew up sharing spaces, helping younger children, supporting one another, and learning how important patience, kindness, and understanding are in a child’s development.
Living in a children’s home also taught me how meaningful stability, love, and guidance are for children. This is one of the reasons I feel deeply connected to working with kids. I understand how important it is for them to feel safe, heard, and encouraged.
I am not just applying to be an au pair because I like children — I truly value them, understand them, and feel comfortable around them. Being around kids feels natural to me.
