Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Fahmi , an Indonesian citizen currently living in Beihai City, China, with my maternal relatives. I am a Muslim and recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Animation Design from Taylor’s University, Malaysia, in 2020. I have a strong passion for learning new things, listening to music, and drawing, which allows me to express creativity in various forms.

I have always enjoyed spending time with children. Since middle school, my cousins have often entrusted their kids to my care, and even now they continue to do so because the children feel comfortable with me. I genuinely enjoy playing with them, teaching them how to read and count, helping with their homework, and even sharing my drawing skills. Whenever I have knowledge that may benefit them, I am always eager to pass it on.

After graduating in Animation, I pursued Medicine at Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 2021 to 2024 on a full scholarship from the Chinese government. However, I decided to pause my studies due to personal and family reasons, as my mother was critically ill and admitted to the ICU at that time. The university, however, granted me a two-year academic leave of absence. Regardless, that chapter taught me valuable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and the meaning of life.

I have also been actively involved in volunteer work. I served as a mental health volunteer during a landslide disaster in West Sumatra, and I was also part of a mental health support team for COVID-19 patients in Indonesia. These experiences taught me empathy, patience, and the importance of supporting others through difficult times.

On a personal note, I enjoy exploring new cultures, learning languages, and improving myself every day. In the future, I aspire to build a career that combines creativity, intercultural understanding, and a passion for helping others—whether through design, education, or community work.
