Dear Host Family,

My name is Emma and I am 19 years old. I live in Göttingen, a town in Lower Saxony. I live here with my parents and my brother goes to university in another city. We like to play board games and cook together. We also love to travel and have found a second home in Tuscany, Italy!

In my spare time I play volleyball in a team, go running and love spending time with my friends over coffee or game nights.
I also attend the youth group at my church every Friday, where we cook and eat together, talk about the Bible and play games. Reading is also a hobby of mine that I have recently picked up again. I don’t think I could go a day without music; singing, listening or playing the piano brings me so much joy. Hiking is also a great way for me to clear my mind, but unfortunately there are not many hills where I live, so I do not get to do it that often.
I have graduated from high school in 2025.

I have a lot of experience in babysitting, I babysat for a befriended family about once a month for 3 years, where I cooked for the kids and cleaned up afterwards. Most days we played games or watched a show or a film. Sometimes I helped them with homework and in the evenings I helped them get dressed, brushed their teeth and read to them.
I also helped with childcare at church events, where we would sing songs or do arts and crafts.

I really enjoy working with children and create lasting bonds with them, so I decided that being an au pair would be a great opportunity for me to experience a new country, meet new people after school and spend even more time with children and experience everyday activities with them.

I chose Italy, because I wanted to stay in Europe and because of the beautiful nature. I love the sun, the people and the architecture. I have travelled to Tuscany many times with my family and it feels like a second home to me.

After my time as an au pair I would like to study psychology and educational sciences.
