Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Gian, a university graduate, I have certificates in basic childcare and Seizure Recognition and First Aid by Epilepsy Foundation. I understand that having a male au pair may not be very common, but I have experience in doing maintenance at home (Changing of light bulb, Mowing the lawn, tidying spaces, sweeping, mopping of floors and many more) and I hope you’ll give me the chance to share more about myself.

I’ve been involved in community volunteer work for almost 8 years, helping less fortunate children aged 5 to 12. I teach them English, a little Spanish, and good manners. I also take care some kids like feeding them, take them to bath, change their clothes and we always play together. I have experience caring for children, especially with my nieces and nephews. During daytime me and the kids always go for a swim in a nearby river and we always play some Filipino games. This is how I spend most of my time.

Traveling to EU countries is not the only reason I’m applying to the au pair program—it’s much more than that. I want to contribute by keeping the household positive and clean, and by helping the children and host family feel comfortable. I also hope to share my Filipino culture and, in return, learn more about yours.
